RDPlus

Banking App for Public Benefits

Product Designer responsible for developing RDPlus, a banking app connecting citizens, municipalities, and local businesses. Focused on usability, scalability, and visual consistency, with a whitelabel design system capable of adopting multiple identities while maintaining coherence across different municipalities and usage contexts.

Problem:

The platform needed to serve both individual (PF) and business (PJ) users with distinct needs:

  • PF: everyday access to public benefits and essential banking features, designed for users in lower-income segments (C and D).

  • PJ: operation as a point-of-sale (POS) for businesses, handling conventional transactions and public benefit payments securely and efficiently.

Additionally, the platform received frequent negative user feedback, reporting difficulties in finding functionalities and understanding proper usage. The system had to be flexible, scalable, and visually consistent, even across multiple identity variations.

Solution:

  • Developed a whitelabel Design System, enabling multiple visual identities without compromising consistency and scalability.

  • Designed the PF account with a simple and accessible visual language, prioritizing usability and comprehension for the general public.

  • Designed the PJ account with a darker color palette to reinforce its operational nature, facilitating POS usage.

  • Structured adaptive interfaces for different usage contexts, ensuring clarity, efficiency, and intuitive navigation.

  • Collaborated closely with cross-functional teams to align user experience, business requirements, and financial operations rules.

Results:

  • Scalable platform capable of serving multiple municipalities while maintaining visual and functional consistency.

  • Reduced negative user feedback, allowing PF users to find features and understand usage more easily.

  • PJ users can operate as POS and process transactions quickly and securely.

  • Whitelabel Design System ensures faster development and easier maintenance, supporting future platform expansion.

Solution Proposals:

  • Use AI to identify clothing items from outfit photos, so the user would only need to take pictures of their outfits, and the wardrobe would be automatically assembled according to the app's usage.

  • Bringing a more appealing interface to the fashion audience.
